If this privacy notice changes in any way, we will place an updated version hereof on this page. By regularly reviewing this page you will ensure that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we share it with others.
The use of TrackMan’s services is subject to the terms of use outlined below. In order to use TrackMan services, websites or apps, you need to accept these terms. We encourage you to read this carefully.
Your privacy is very important to us. This document discloses how we use and share your TrackMan information with others. It also discloses how we collect and use your content and information with good and fair business practices in mind.
Our technology is based on the Doppler Radar Principle. It essentially detects microwaves reflecting from the movement of a baseball’s flight. The change in frequency of these receiving waves is what makes it possible for us to track what happens at the very moments of throw release, hit impact, and ball flight movement in-between.
TrackMan collects data through any TrackMan proprietary channel, such as TrackMan developed software, apps, websites and devices, as well as third parties. For purposes of this notice, references to our “Website” should be understood to include baseball.trackman.com, connect.baseball.trackman.com, other websites managed by TrackMan, as well as our apps.
We collect three distinct kinds of personal data:
In addition to receiving the data from offline sources such as through third party partners, we may collect information such as your name, email, physical address, telephone number, gender, age, date of birth, and other data, for example, when you fill out the online profile on our Website with this information. The more we know from your profile, the better we can customize our messaging and your experience. We may also collect other data including (i) any username and password information provided for Website registration and login; (ii) credit card or other payment related information for products or services offered by TrackMan; (iii) user content (e.g., photos, videos, comments, and other materials) with associated metadata that you may voluntarily provide or post to our Website; and (iv) communications between you and TrackMan via email or other means.
We collect TrackMan data, which is data generated when you interact with our products and services such as by participating in a game where TrackMan devices are used to record game data. The data can be collected by TrackMan or through third party partners administering TrackMan equipment. The data collected can include individual statistics, ball flight data, and video recordings of your play. The TrackMan data is typically linked to your personal information.
When you visit our Website, we may use cookies and similar technologies like pixels, web beacons, and local storage to collect information about how you use our Website and provide features to you. We may have advertisers or other partners serve ads or services to your devices using similar technologies. We may also use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Website.
Our Website’s servers may automatically record certain log file information, including your web request, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks and how you interact with links on our Website, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, mobile device identifier, geo-location data and other such information. We may also collect similar information from emails sent to our users which then help us track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. The information allows for more accurate reporting and improvement of our Website and services.
We use your data in at least five distinct ways:
We use the above data for various purposes, but in particular to enhance your TrackMan experience through a more personalized and shared interaction. Our TrackMan data allows us to tailor information specifically for your benefit. As an example (not meant to be comprehensive of all uses), video screen casts and data reports may enable you to better understand and improve your player habits.
We also use your TrackMan data for statistical purposes (aggregated data) where we do not reveal your identity, nor does it directly relate to you, even if we have included your personal data. For example, we may aggregate personal data to evaluate skills according to age, gender or level of play. These are typical, but not exhaustive examples.
Our products also allow you to compare your personal data with other baseball players that played in the same or different tournaments, showcases, and other competitions in an effort to benefit your overall game. Such comparisons may display your name on publicly displayed leaderboards on our Website. Another example may be your results from one of our hitting challenges, which may be shared on these publicly, displayed leaderboards. These are typical, but not exhaustive examples.
We may also share your TrackMan data with organizations interested in using it for scouting, statistical and/or player evaluation purposes (such as sports agencies). The personal information provided to these organizations is limited to what is necessary for the TrackMan data to be properly represented to the organizations. An example is a raw data set of all TrackMan data collected at a tournament and provided in a .csv file format where each play is represented on a separate row that includes name, contact information and game data, as well as proprietary or third party IDs associated with a particular player.
We may also use your information to help you efficiently access your information after you sign in to our Website; provide personalized content and information to you and others, which could include online ads or other forms of marketing; provide, improve, test, and monitor the effectiveness of our Website; develop and test new products and features; monitor metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns for our Website; or diagnose or fix technology problems.
Any information (e.g., username or name) or content (e.g., picture) that you voluntarily share or disclose for posting on our Website may be made available to the public.
TrackMan shares your personal data with data processors who process and store the data on our behalf. Our data processors are suppliers of server capacity, website hosting, email services, and other IT services.
We may also share your personal data with other organizations for promotional purposes. However, third party companies will not send you promotional e-mails or electronic messages without your consent.
We are not responsible for the practices employed by any websites or services that may be linked to or from our Website (e.g., Facebook, Twitter), including the information or content contained within them. Please remember that when you use a link to go from our Website to another website or service, our Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party websites or services. Your browsing and interaction on any third-party website or service, including those that have a link on our Website, are subject to that third party’s own rules and policies. In addition, you agree that we are not responsible and do not have control over any third-parties that you authorize to access your personal information. If you are using a third-party website or service and you allow them to access your personal information, you do so at your own risk.
TrackMan does not currently respond to "do not track" signals, and its data collection and sharing practices remain consistent for all users in accordance with the representations in this Privacy Policy.
TrackMan uses commercially reasonable safeguards to process and store your personal data safely and securely. However, TrackMan cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit to our Website or guarantee that information on our Website will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.
We keep your personal data only as long as it is reasonably necessary to administer your user account on our Website. If you delete your user profile, we will delete any personal information collected from you through the website from our servers in a timely fashion, but we may maintain information collected in other ways according to the agreements governing that collection.
If you want to know all which of your personal data has been collected online and is being processed or stored by TrackMan, you can request such information from TrackMan. If the personal data about you is erroneous or misleading, you are entitled to request that the data be corrected, deleted or blocked.
